Video data converting process details
For video data decompression PPTTOSWF uses decompressors installed in the system. PPTTOSWF always generates SWF file with the frame rate equal to 12 frames per second (it is the most widely used and recommended frame rate). Initial Video clip can have frame rate that is not equal to 12. Audio stream from video clip is converted and stored as described for Audio converting process.
When no Direct X is installed, PPTTOSWF will try to convert video streams using any possible means. First the video and audio streams are extracted from the input file (currently supports the AVI, ASF and WMV files in this mode). Then the video is written to the output file. PPT to SWF uses the following technologies to convert video without Direct X: AVI API, Windows Media Format SDK, VCM and ACM. Note: the VCM version of the codec that was used while preparing the video embedded to the presentation is required in this mode (AVI conversion without Direct X).
Audio data converting process details
PPTTOSWF uses PCM and MP3 audio data formats to save audio into SWF file. All audio streams from video clip always will be converted to MP3. To convert sound from various formats to WAV PCM and MP3 we use PCM and MPEG Layer-3 compressors. Those compressors should be installed in the system. Source sound can be supplied in several formats. PPT to SWF chooses destination sound format depending on the source sound format:
If source sound is uncompressed WAV PCM then it remains unchanged.
If source sound is compressed WAV (for example Microsoft ADPCM)
then it will be converted to uncompressed WAV PCM.
If source sound is MP3 then it remains MP3.
If no MPEG Layer-3 codec is installed in the system, then destination audio data will be in WAV PCM format. Sound files included into PowerPoint presentation must have one of the following sampling rate:
5.5 kHz" = 5512 Hz
11 kHz" = 11025 Hz
22 kHz" = 22050 Hz
44 kHz" = 44100 Hz
Requirements for the
proper converting of Audio and Video
All necessary sound card drivers installed
All necessary video codecs used for preparing video embedded
into presentation installed
Direct X® 8 or higher for converting MPEG2 videos
Microsoft Windows Media Player® for converting the WMV
and ASF videos when no DirectX is installed
PPTTOSWF is able to create custom navigation process for navigation through ready SWF clip.
Supports shape actions defined by user in presentation (go to the first slide, go to the last slide, go to the slide by its number, go to the previous slide, go to the next slide, go to the URL, stop the slideshow)
Navigation based on Timeline placed in the presentation. PPTTOSWF will save showing time for each slide. Those times will be used during the SWF file creation and setting showing time for each slide in SWF.
Embedded Navigation Buttons into SWF clip with user predefined color. User can select Navigation buttons placement on the slide.
Navigation based on HTML PPT to SWF generates the necessary set of HTML pages based on predefined templates. 8 different templates can be used for generation of HTML pages. PPTTOSWF provides opportunity to customize predefined templates by changing HTML page Background color and inserting Presenter's Logo.
PowerPoint Navigation - only PowerPoint navigation actions will be placed to your SWF file. That navigation type is convenient for creating browse able SWF files that can be used in Web projects.
