Therefore, there’s a need for a solution that would keep homeowners up to date with their consumption and empower them to make smarter utility usage choices to reduce costs.

Solution

And at Softarex we have created such a solution. For this project, we have developed a Smart Meter Reading System for meter data management and billing. It’s a powerful custom-built solution that has allowed the customers of our Client, a smart meter solutions provider, to remotely read, process, wirelessly transmit, and securely store consumption data from multiple smart metering devices (heating, water, gas, electricity). Based on the collected data, the Smart Meter Reading System can automatically create utility invoices, which helps make the process of paying bills convenient and hassle-free.

The main features of the system include:

Tenant portal — provides users with real-time smart meter data;
Meters management — the system shuts off gas and water valves in an emergency;
Meter data collection and transfer in compliance with the wireless M-Bus protocol;
AES data encryption — protects collected data from breaches;
Cloud data storage — all meter data is centrally located on the cloud;
Cross-platform compatibility: the app can run on both Android and iOS.
