HVAC Management Software: IoT-Enabled Building Automation Solution

Challenge

The recent trend in home automation satisfies the need of today's homeowners for maximum comfort and highly manageable home appliances. Smart home technology transforms a traditional home into a single system that can be easily adjusted according to the user's needs.

Apart from lighting, such systems allow homeowners to control heating, ventilation, and air conditioning to create a healthy and comfortable living environment, improve air quality, reduce energy consumption and prevent shockingly high utility bills.

Solution

For this project, we have engineered and developed a custom HVAC Management System that has enabled our Client's customers to remotely control their engineering systems using personal devices or PC.

It’s a one-page JavaScript web application based on the standard AutoSCADA solution that allows using controllers from different manufacturers. The app can run on various kinds of industrial panels. It’s based on cloud technology and deployed on the hosting of a reliable Internet provider. The main features of Softarex’s HVAC Management System include:

Functional UI — all UI elements are functional parts of the application that can be used to manage real systems and sensors;
UI elements library — an expandable library of UI components in SVG format with animation abilities for building schemes;
IDE — fully functional IDE used to design HMI for industrial panels;
Notifications: the system sends users SMS and e-mail notifications;
Settings — allows users to adjust the settings and modes of their HVAC systems, turn the equipment on and off, and more.

The use of the system requires no start-up costs. The HVAC management service is available by subscription at very affordable prices. Moreover, it can be easily customized for any user. If necessary, it is possible to implement control of other engineering systems (e.g., electric power systems) using the graphical user interface.
