Waitbusters: Restaurant Management Platform
Running a successful restaurant is a tough job. Many restaurants lose a lot of money and customers, struggling with crowded lobbies, long lines, and paperwork. But the right software can help them overcome these and other challenges to serve guests quickly and efficiently, attract new customers and retain existing ones, and increase revenue while reducing costs.
Restaurant Inventory Management System
On average, restaurants spend around 30% of the monthly budget on food and beverage purchasing. Due to lack of visibility into restaurant stock shelves, around 10% of the purchased food ends up in the trash, which results in huge money loss. Therefore, an effectively functioning restaurant inventory management is one of the most important assets of restaurant daily operations. It helps not only reduce food spoilage but also control and manage restaurant costs.
Remote Food Measurement System
The key to the success of a restaurant chain is an impeccable reputation. When ordering food at a chain restaurant, the customer expects to get a dish with a familiar taste and appearance. That is why the kitchen of such restaurants looks like production lines at large factories. Each step of the cooking process must take a certain amount of time, and each product must have the exact same weight. To achieve this, restaurants need to constantly monitor all stages of the kitchen workflow — from pre-preparation to serving.

Challenge

On average, restaurants spend around 30% of the monthly budget on food and beverage purchasing. Due to lack of visibility into restaurant stock shelves, around 10% of the purchased food ends up in the trash, which results in huge money loss.

Therefore, an effectively functioning restaurant inventory management is one of the most important assets of restaurant daily operations. It helps not only reduce food spoilage but also control and manage restaurant costs.

Many restaurants use Excel sheets and manual registers to monitor their inventory. However, manual tracking methods are too time and energy-consuming. They generate extra paperwork, increase the risk of errors, and lead to employee burnout.

But with the right restaurant software in place, restaurant managers can always stay on top of the restaurant stock to make more data-driven purchasing decisions and reduce costs.

Solution

Softarex has taken part in the development of a Restaurant Inventory Management System*. It’s a web-based application that brings visibility to the kitchen workflow and helps optimize inventory purchasing according to the restaurant’s actual stocking needs. The developed solution can be easily customized to meet the specific needs of a restaurant of any size and type.

The Restaurant Inventory Management System by Softarex provides the following functionality:

  • Restaurant demand management based on real-time AI analysis of online and offline orders, the creation of production plans for the kitchen, and inventory management.
  • Calendar — allows users to create restaurant events — from wine tastings to wedding receptions for 100 guests — and specify all necessary attributes: type, the number of guests, menu, staff assigned to serve an event, etc.
  • Stations — users can create an unlimited number of cooking stations: dessert, sauté, grill, etc., and assign line chefs to execute orders. Staff can leave notes about the stations they work at for other shifts.
  • Task management using kanban boards. Restaurant managers can create, assign tasks and check their completion percentage.
  • Recipes — users can create detailed recipes and upload photos and videos to visualize the cooking process in detail.
  • Menus — all the recipes can be grouped into menus and then sorted into easily managed Trello-like categories.
  • Inventory management — automatically adds items from today’s menu, grouped by recipes, to the to-do list of each kitchen station. Chefs can update the status of ingredients once they have been inspected and prepared for use in cooking.
  • Shopping list — enables restaurant managers to create shopping lists.
  • Chat — communication channel for staff working at different kitchen stations.
  • Role-based access control — allows users to define access permissions for each staff member.
  • Thanks to the adaptive interface of our solution, all the above features are available using both a computer and a tablet.
